I have been working as a counsellor for fifteen years, initially within counselling agencies, following working as a youth worker and addiction worker in various services. I am a member of the British association of counsellors and psychotherapists and am GDRP compliant.
As an integrative practitioner, I work with a variety of different counselling approaches depending on the individual. Counselling involves forming a creative space in which the sense of self can be seen with empathy and people can find ways to understand themselves in new ways, allowing for change.

Recent Feedback
Karen Rosati – Thankyou Richard. You put me at ease from the first phone call. The sessions are held in a relaxed and inviting space which really helped but even without that, your manner and approach was incredibly gentle and comforting. You come across as a very caring, insightful individual and I would encourage anyone thinking about counselling to give you a call
Dr Conforti (counselling psychologist) – Thanks to his personal experiences, thorough knowledge and gentle attitude, Richard is a therapist that can offer useful insight, tactful challenges and unbiased listening with genuine understanding.
Mark Pattrick – Thankyou Richard, friendly reassuring, advising without being intrusive, incredibly attentive and empathetic. a voyage of self discovery. would strongly recommend.
Melanie – Richard first helped me in 2013 after a very tragic family event. I went to him with some horrible things that were whizzing around in my head that I couldn’t tell anyone else and he was very helpful.
I have recently started sessions with Richard again after going through a huge stressful change in my life and some futher family worries.
Talking with Richard, I can be very open, I feel very safe exposing my emotions and he is not shocked at anything. He has a kind and calm way of gently coaching me to be far kinder to myself and put in place some practical simple methods of controlling my worrying thoughts.
Richard is so experienced in any areas of counselling and it feels so reassuring to know he is always there to support me.
